The Bible says that this man Jesus, who lived in the land of Israel about 2,000 years ago, was in fact God walking amongst us.
The 4 accounts of his life in the Bible - Matthew, Mark, Luke and John - are reliable history and in these accounts Jesus claims to be God. He doesn’t leave us with the option of dismissing him as a good teacher or a good example to follow; his claim only leaves us with the following 3 options:
He is deluded. We can ignore him.
He is lying. We should steer clear of him.
He is telling the truth…
We invite you to get hold of a Bible and turn to one of these four accounts (Mark is the shortest!) and ask yourself: “is this how a deluded man would have spoken or been received?”, “are these the actions of someone out to deliberately deceive us?”
We believe that it is all true - that he really does show us God. And what do we see? We see a man in a relationship with his Father God, filled with the Spirit of God. We see him die to pay the price for our sin and bring us into that relationship. We see him rise again and ascend to reign in heaven. We see him promise that he will return and reign over a Kingdom of justice and peace forever.
So how about you, who do you think Jesus is?
At the very least, please investigate him. If he is who he says he is, it changes everything…
